Purchasing shares gives you ownership of the Credit Union. This is the account that provides you with all the benefits you can obtain from the Communal. To become a member, you purchase a minimum of forty (40) shares at five ($5.00) each. There is a registration fee of twenty ($20.00) and you can open a savings account at the same time of any time thereafter.
This is your primary account. When you become a share holder, you have access to all the benefits provided by the Communal Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.
You will be in possession of the Communal’s ID card, which affords you benefits in the form of discounts on the purchase of goods and services from business in Grenada and Carriacou.
You will be covered by the Life Savings and Loan Protection Insurance which the Credit Union pays for each member/shareholder.
You will be entitled to dividends at the end of the financial year, in addition to interest on your regular and other savings accounts
Your child/children will have access to a five year scholarships offered to members’ children who are successful in the Common Entrance Examinations.
If you purchase our Education and Golden years saving plans, you will be entitled to a bonus in addition to interest on those accounts.
